What is an Infodemic?

Infodemic is defined as people’s anxiety in reaching reliable and accurate information during the crises such as a pandemic, earthquake or terrorist attacks due to the swift spread of misinformation. As the need for information during the crises increases, people may have difficulty making a distinction between true and false information, and it causes the spread of infodemic. Thus, the infodemic becomes an obstacle for people to find accurate guides and leads to public health problems.
